Genesis QA Scheme
Assurance (noun): a positive declaration, a formal guarantee
Assurance is about a commitment to doing things well and being able to prove what has been done in order to achieve high standards.
Farm assurance is about taking positive steps to show that all due care is taken in the production of crops and livestock. It is not about paperwork, form filling and bureaucracy. It is not an industry on its own but exists to assist UK farmers to secure markets for their products. It is about demonstrating the steps taken and to give confidence to all who purchase products from UK farms.
At Genesis QA our philosophy is one of achieving the benefits of assurance in a commonsense manner which gives the maximum time for concentrating on rearing quality livestock and growing excellent crops.
Our formula has clearly been successful. Since our first steps in 1999, Genesis QA has grown year on year and is now a well-established and respected provider of farm assurance to over 4,000 producers of the UK farming industry. And we will not rest on our laurels – we are constantly looking for new ways to make Genesis QA an even more attractive partner for UK farmers and working with the industry to deliver real benefits to UK farmers who already work to the highest global standards.
As a member of Genesis QA you will be entitled to a range of benefits designed to help improve business performance, make complying with legislation easier and save you money.
What is the Genesis QA process?
Our aim is to make assurance as straightforward as possible.
Step 1 Download and complete the application form for the enterprises you want to assure. Send the completed application form with payment to Genesis QA.
Step 2 we will acknowledge receipt of your application form and co-ordinate with our certification body to arrange an initial assessment of your farm.
Step 3 During the assessment the assessor will identify any areas where you do not conform to the Standards and leave an Action Point List for you to complete. At this point we suggest that you give us a call to discuss what needs to be done to correct them. Our aim is to help you conform, not to trip you up.
Step 4 You advise the certification body of the changes you have made to your business to address the areas of non-conformance. An assessor may revisit the farm at this stage.
Step 5 Once all non-conformances have been corrected to the satisfaction of the certification body a certificate of conformity, which is valid for one year, will be issued. At this stage your enterprises are Genesis QA assured.
Step 6 On the anniversary of you joining the scheme we invite you to renew.
