Genesis sponsors Pig & Poultry Marketing Awards 2012
Once again, Genesis sponsored the Awards on 3 May this year, presenting the prize for the 'Health and Welfare’ category. We are delighted to say that the winner’s slot was awarded to Brydock Pig Farming, with Kelly Turkeys being ‘Highly Commended’.

The judges were highly impressed at Brydon’s hands on approach which has clearly led to high welfare standards and the overall success of the enterprise. It is clear that the attitude has come into the business from the top and has percolated through the business. Whilst some of the methods employed to improve the well being and the life of the pigs have a direct cost in terms of time and money, it is demonstrable that they get this back in overall performance.

The judges were very impressed with the standard of health and welfare set out by Kelly Turkeys. The staggering success of the brand is not only a testament to the management and marketing of the organisation but the fact that it is driven by such a keen welfare and sustainability policy which underpins the whole saleability and excellent image portrayed by the business.
